My Bio

Charbel

UBC

Hi everyone!

I'm Charbel, currently a General Surgery Resident at UBC. My academic journey started with a BSc in Neuroscience and Hispanic Languages at McGill. I earned my MD at UofM while simultaneously completing my MSc at McGill.

Having applied to medical schools and residency programs across Canada, I know exactly how challenging and stressful the process can be. I've been through multiple interviews and have firsthand experience with what different programs are looking for. This experience has equipped me with valuable insights into crafting successful applications, acing the CASPer test, and performing well in interviews.

I am passionate about helping future medical students and residents navigate their own paths to success. Whether you need help with mock interviews, application reviews, or personalized advice on how to stand out, I'm here to guide you every step of the way. My goal is to share the strategies that worked for me and personalize them to you to provide you with the tools you need to succeed.

I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your dreams of becoming the healthcare professional you want to be!

Charbel was an excellent coach in prepping for my CaRMS residency interviews. He created an environment and asked questions in ways that was very similar to my interview experience and he gave me really constructive feedback on my responses which I felt allowed me to be natural and act genuine while also being more polished or focused. I have found other interview prep recommended very scripted responses which just wasn't me. I matched to my number one choice for residency programs (as an IMG) and attribute my success in my interviews to the support and coaching from Charbel.
